Cultural Events
The town's most important festivity is la Feria de San Joaquín, which takes place in mid-July and early August in honor of Bacalar´s saint and all those inhabitants who with their efforts have built and helped this so-called Magic Town grow. In this celebration, the image of San Joaquin is taken around the town between music, prayers and fireworks, and the locals also hold artcraft exhibitions, sports and cultural events, etc.

In recent years, Bacalar has become a popular destination for hosting different yoga, meditation and spiritual retreats.
