Airway
In the Mexican Caribbean we have three international airports in the destinations of Cancun, Cozumel and Chetumal.
Cancun International Airport
It is located 16 kilometers (9.94 miles) from the Hotel Zone and 20 kilometers (12.42 miles) from the city center. It has 4 terminals fully equipped and designed with the latest technology to meet the needs of passengers.
The Cancun International Airport receives the largest number of international passengers in Mexico with direct flights to and from different destinations in the United States, Canada, Europe and some Latin American countries. In addition to covering national routes to and from a large number of cities within the Mexican Republic.
Inside the airport there are taxis, shuttles companies, private transfers, buses and various car rental companies that offer transportation services to the center, the hotel zone or any of the tourist attractions.
Cozumel International Airport
This airport has direct flights to and from different destinations in Canada, the United States, and in Mexico: Monterrey, Mexico City and Cancun.
Inside the airport there are taxis, shuttles companies, private transfers and various car rental companies that offer transportation services anywhere on the island. It is located 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from downtown.
Chetumal International Airport
Chetumal Airport has flights to and from Mexico City, Guadalajara and Cancun.
Inside the airport there are taxis, and some car rental companies that offer transportation services to hotels or tourist attractions. It is located 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) from the city center.
Land track
To arrive through Yucatan you must take the Federal Highway 180 that connects the state with Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum; or Highway 184 that connects Yucatán with the southern part of the State (Maya Ka´an and Grand Costa Maya).
Through the state of Campeche, you can reach the northern area of the Mexican Caribbean on Federal Highway 180 and the southern area, along the Villahermosa-Chetumal 186 road.
The gateway from Central America to the Mexican Caribbean is through the Chetumal Libramiento- Subteniente López, which connects with the town of Corozal in Belize, where the Free Zone is located.
Seaway
Another option to reach the destination is via cruise. The ports of Cozumel Island and Mahahual receive several cruise passengers a year.
Cozumel
Cozumel is the main cruise port in Mexico and has 3 docks: Punta Langosta which is located a very short distance from the main square; International Dock and the Puerta Maya Dock that are located towards the south of the island.
Mahahual
The Costa Maya Port is located a few minutes from the center of Mahahual. It is the only cruise port in the southern zone, and is considered the second most important in the country.
This port has shops, restaurants, bars, among others.
